Planner/scheduler
**Job Title: Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler** **Job Description** The Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the technical aspects of scheduling materials, manpower, and machines for production operations. This role involves preparing daily and weekly schedules for assigned product lines or departments and coordinating with the overall master schedule. The individual will communicate regularly with customer service, purchasing, and production staff to adjust schedules based on machine or material availability and staffing. This position operates under limited supervision. **Responsibilities** + Work closely with the sales and management teams to understand demand forecasts and align production schedules with anticipated customer needs. + Regularly assess and adjust inventory buffer levels based on variability in demand and supply, ensuring they are aligned with actual performance and market conditions. + Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory, production efficiency, lead times, system reliability, stability, and velocity. + Generate and review reports to provide insights into operational performance and areas for improvement. + Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations and timely execution of the production schedule. + Manage changes in production plans or schedules due to unforeseen events such as equipment breakdowns or material shortages, and communicate these changes effectively to all stakeholders. + Actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving processes and reducing waste within the production environment, in line with Lean principles and DDMRP methodologies. + Identify potential risks related to supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks, ensuring continuity of operations. + Engage with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, resolve supply issues, and enhance collaboration to align supply capabilities with demand requirements. + Provide training and guidance to team members on DDMRP principles, inventory management practices, and the use of relevant software tools to enhance overall team capability. **Essential Skills** + Must be capable of performing each task within the allowable time set by the company. + Strong written and oral communication skills. + Ability to read and write. + Basic computer skills and experience. + Must be able to work in a team. + Ability to use tools and equipment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 3+ months of experience in a production/manufacturing role. **Why Work Here?** We offer quarterly profit sharing bonuses, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and a 401(k) with employer matching. **Work Environment** The position involves working with power tools, hand and power tools, grinders, deburring, grinding, production, inspection, carpentry, deburring, polishing, and power tools. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Sultan, Washington. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $77000.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
