Introduction:

 

We are seeking a Planner to join our Shutdown Delivery team. You will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of shutdown projects. 

This position is mainly located in Burlington, ON or Sudbury, ON and we are happy to offer possible relocation.

 

Must have the Ability to travel nationally and internationally (Estimated 70% of the time) including shutdown work.

You will join a team of Delivery experts committed to traveling to customer sites, and putting together schedules, the review, construction of these, and coordination meetings.

What you’ll do:

 

Responsible for planning and scheduling functions on Shutdown projects utilizing solid Project Management practices. Typical functions include; construction scope of work creation, schedule creation and development, schedule optimization, logistics, schedule tracking, critical path management and status reporting requirements. Responsible to create/develop Microsoft Project/P6 construction schedules from engineering drawings.  Assist with resource, infrastructure, logistics, and mobilization and demobilization planning. Assist Sales by providing technical and cost estimating inputs for sales cases/proposals. Report project status, critical issues and opportunities to the Project Manager – includes preparing status reports as required.  Positively impact and abide by the Health and Safety Culture within Metso and the Shutdown Delivery Team. In this role you will be collaborating across diverse cultures and environments.


Who you are:

 

1 to 3 years of experience within the consulting engineering environment, Industrial Construction Projects. College or University degree in Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Technician or Electromechanical Technician. Ability to work in a variety of environments which may include exposure to extreme heat, humidity, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud noise, and all-weather conditions. Comfortable wearing half face, full face respirators and other PPE as required to perform tasks while on site. Ability to read and understand mechanical technical drawings. Ability to read and understand civil structural technical drawings.
