In the Global Finance Community, the U.S. Businesses Finance team has planning and analysis (P&A) and strategic finance responsibilities for Prudential’s U.S. Businesses and Functions. The U.S. Businesses Finance team has responsibility for consolidating the quarterly financial and forecasting results for Prudential’s U.S. Businesses: Retirement Strategies, Group Insurance, and Individual Life.  This includes partnering with the business finance teams and Corporate Functions and developing presentations and analysis primarily for the CEO and the CFO of the U.S. businesses with significant interaction and exposure to them and other senior leaders. In addition, the team provides financial support to the U.S. COO for Prudential’s quarterly earnings calls, which includes partnering with Investor Relations and staying current on key industry topics and competitors. Additionally, the team leads cross-business initiatives and strategic projects, supporting the CFO and CEO of the U.S.

The Planning & Analysis Specialist is a key position that works closely with the various U.S. Businesses and the Global Finance Community in multiple capacities.  This individual will provide value-added, insightful and actionable analytics for the U.S. Businesses to help inform Senior Management to drive strategic decision making.  The role will serve as a liaison between the COO and CFO of the U.S. Businesses with the individual businesses and the rest of the Global Finance Community.  The candidate will develop a deep knowledge of Prudential’s U.S. Businesses strategy along with an understanding of each business.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site. 

What you can expect:  

Consolidation of the P&A financial reporting and forecasting process for the U.S. BusinessesSupport of extensive sets of analysis, presentations, and adhoc requests for Senior ManagementBusiness Knowledge and Strategy- in-depth understanding of the underlying performance and health of each of the U.S. Businesses, including key business drivers/metrics and financial results, while also supporting the overall U.S. Businesses strategy. Financial knowledge- understanding of U.S. GAAP and Stat financial results, capital, and cash flows.Drive continuous automation and improvement of processes and output of the team.

What you’ll need:  

Undergraduate business degree in Finance, Accounting or related business fields3+ years of experience in forecasting, planning and analysis, and financial reporting experienceExperience working in Financial Services industry, particularly with Life Insurance, Annuities, Retirement and Asset ManagementAbility to understand business fundamentals and business strategyAbility to interpret financial results extracting trends to provide valuable insights to the businesses and Senior ManagementStrong and concise communication and presentation skills and ability to present to Senior Management with a strong executive presenceAbility to build relationships and collaborate extensively with key business partners and stakeholders to drive executionAgile and organized with ability to prioritize and manage multiple demandsAbility to identify opportunities to better leverage existing and emerging technologies to complete tasks more efficiently and effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft Excel

Advance degrees and/or relevant professional certifications/designations- MBA, CPA, and/or CFA)Strong analytical skills and financial modeling experience

The salary range for this role is from $71,100.00 to $105,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
