Purpose of Role: As a Planning Analyst, responsibilities include analyzing data to support strategic planning and inventory management. The role involves working directly with the business to understand needs, identify inventory opportunities, and enhance planning processes. Tasks include using and supporting planning software, developing planning tools, improving current systems, and providing insights to reduce excess inventory and optimize inventory turns.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze and interpret data to support planning and inventory processes. Identify actionable insights to enhance inventory management and planning effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting: Work with business units to understand and address their planning and inventory needs. Drive standardized processes and provide regular progress reports and trend analyses to the executive team and relevant departments.

Documentation and Training: Prepare documentation and work instructions for process changes and new solutions. Collaborate with the educational department to develop and validate training programs, such as Weir Planning University.

Software Proficiency and Tool Development: Learn and work with planning software like Celonis and Kinaxis. Support the development and deployment of new planning and inventory management tools aligned with the Weir Integrating Network System (WINS).

Process Improvement and Optimization: Continuously evaluate and enhance inventory and planning processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure alignment with global Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

3 years of experience .

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for developing, implementing, and assessing planning and inventory metrics.

Knowledge of Material Resource Planning (MRP), manufacturing processes, bill of materials, and procurement.

Understanding of financial analysis and forecasting.

Effective problem-solving abilities for complex planning challenges.

Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.

Preferred: Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish) and experience in materials planning, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or supply chain management.
