The role: Planning Engineer

An opportunity to join the dynamic world of Operational Maintenance Planning as a Planning Engineer. It will be your responsibility to build a plan satisfying a multitude of complex factors, with compliance being the primary driver. This is a key front-line operational role, interfacing with key stakeholder groups across BA's operational spectrum. A fast-paced role on shift, where resilience, ability to prioritise, technical awareness and an ability to solve problems are key capabilities for any potential candidate.

We are looking for a team player with good communication skills, the ability to cope under pressure and assimilate multiple information feeds to create a clear plan. Key skills in problem-solving, attention to detail, accuracy and digital literacy are a must.

Aircraft engineering experience/knowledge is essential for this role, and an understanding of aviation regulations would be desirable.

What you’ll do:

Creation of the operational maintenance and casualty plan, the priorities and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements whilst delivering to the customer’s requirements

Maximise opportunities within the maintenance plan and other key assets through data analysis.Influences the management of resources across departments and projects to meet operational and financial objectivesApplying Engineering objectives when making decisions and creating plansEnsures high-quality communication takes place with all stakeholders, suppliers and customers and that this takes place in a timely and accurate manner and in line with company HallmarksMay be asked to stand in for Team LeaderSupport, participate and contribute to continuously improving processes to ensure they are ‘value added’ cost effectiveEnsure the best use of hangars, manpower, components and downtime by ensuring tasks are called in the most effective mannerWhat you’ll bring to British Airways:Strong interpersonal and collaborative skillsA high level of awareness of maintenance tasks or extensive experience in aircraft maintenance planningAbility to plan in a changing and complex environmentAbility to communicate clearly with customers and suppliers using different mediaIT literacy – strong SAP, AirOps and Excel usageYour experience:

HNC/HND/degree level or equivalent in an approved Engineering subject.

Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.Knowledge of EASA regulations, including Part-M and Part-145Understanding of Aircraft Maintenance PlanningAircraft technical knowledge desirableSound understanding of the Operation desirableWhat we offer:
