As a member of the Global Operations Equipment group, you will be responsible for ideation, design, implementation of critical strategic initiatives. We have production facilities across the globe. You will help bring a strong focus to continuously improving both our team and our processes.

What do we want to know about you?

The Planning and Scheduling Manager demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and production schedules for the TX Locomotive Plant. He/She has the experience, expertise, and critical thinking capacity to solve complex problems. Ability to develop and execute objectives for self and others. This role affects both short-term and some long-term business goals. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, drive process adherence, develop and execute objectives for self and others.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 3 years of supply chain, operations, or materials experience

Planner, MTA, Buyer Experience (Wabtec Employees Only)Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and multi-task/prioritize as neededSelf-starter and highly motivatedAbility to lead a team, create a shared vision, and energize othersAbility to develop and implement strategic plansStrong background in excel data analysisOperational experience in Oracle highly desiredExperience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power BI

What will your typical day look like?

Lead and manage the TX locomotive planning team which is made up of three plannersMaster schedule creation and auditingOracle demand load and auditing vs SIOP ForecastManage locomotive forecast, reschedules, and cancellation signals for planned ordered materialEnsure synchronization of Master Schedule and Production ScheduleCreate Schedule Change Review Slides and facilitate SCR MeetingCoordinate creation and release of manufacturing BOM’s with configuration control team as new programs appear on Master ScheduleWork with program management and engineering to establish sequence/layout of local LA’s in Master ScheduleWork with business leaders and Material Technical Advisors to coordinate any special sequence changes due to engineering testing, damaged units, etc.Coordinate with SIOP leader to establish and communicate financial planEffectively communicate financial and build plans to plant manager & BL’sWork closely with internal suppliers and buyers to ensure proper material signals are driven in the system and material will arrive on time for production needsWeekly 1-1 meetings with planning team, also serving as point of escalation for any planning, build sequence, or VMI material issuesEscalate VMI material shortages to GEXPRO Site Leader as neededCollect and publish weekly/monthly planning metrics performing root cause analysis with team as needed. Present metrics to manager and teamSupport specialized reporting requests such as “what if” and scenario analysis (Generally involving BOM and LT data)

What about the physical demands of the job?

Exposure to shop floor requires wearing PPEWalking, climbing, stooping, stooping, bending, lifting is all part of the hands on learning process
