Plant 52 | Cut Table Operator | Shift 5Position Overview
Position Description:
To cut carpet rolls into individual sample swatches and strips for the Prep and MTO departments in accordance with production needs.
Essential Duties:

Scan roll on table
Check the screen for correct size and amount
Check and set blades for correct swatch width
Periodically measure swatch size to ensure that swatch being cut is correct size. Measuring of the swatch should take place immediately following a machine set-up and then periodically after that to make certain that swatch size remains consistent and correct
Advance carpet roll into the cradle
Trim leading edge to square carpet
Cut the correct swatch or strip size and quantity as specified on screen
Maintain accurate production log on production sheet -
Direct stackers
Sharpen cutting blades as necessary
Must be able to read a tape measurer
Non-Essential Duties:
(Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility)
Maintain a clean, trip hazard-free work area at all times
Ensure that work area is clean at the beginning and end of each shift
Cut and complete shortage orders
Perform basic cut table maintenance (ex: changing blades, changing rocks on sharpeners/grinders, adjusting belt)
Perform any duties necessary to aid in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
Check Tape Measure before each shift for defects or damage
Recommended to participate in stretching exercises as directed by the supervisor or lead to avoid possible injury
Physical Requirements:
Standing for up to 8 hours
Reaching constantly to align carpet, adjust blades, and sharpen blades
Continual use of arms and legs throughout the shift
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to constantly step up and down from cut table to prep new roll or align/clear carpet
Carry large carpet rolls from buggy to cut table b/w two people (average of 15-30 lbs. per person
Carry sausage rolls from buggy to cut table (average of 15-30 lbs. per person)
Other Requirements:
Ability to work with decimals and fractions
Maintain production needs
Ability to exercise good judgment
Must be able to use a computer (basics) for system login/printing
Must be able to read a tape measure
Must be able to effectively demonstrate good communication skills
