Job Description
The Plant Comptroller is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the manufacturing plant. This includes financial planning and analysis, budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures. The Plant Comptroller will work closely with plant management to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with corporate financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process for the plant, including preparation, consolidation, and presentation of the budget. Develop financial forecasts and variance analyses to support business planning and decision-making.Cost Management:
Analyze production costs and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Implement and monitor cost control measures to ensure the plant operates within budget.Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to improve plant performance and profitability.Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate inventory valuation. Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to manage inventory levels and reduce obsolescence.Capital Expenditure:
Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and prepare financial justifications for investment decisions. Monitor and report on capital project spending and ensure projects are completed within budget.Team Leadership:
Lead and develop the plant finance team, providing coaching, training, and performance management. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the finance team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and cost accounting. Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
