Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller outside of Lansing, Michigan. This role will be integral to our team, focusing on the financial health of the business. You will be tasked with duties ranging from overseeing the accounting department, driving financial analysis, managing inventory levels, and liaising with personnel to ensure accurate and timely information.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the accounting department to ensure monthly financial closings are accurate and timely, maintaining compliance with internal controls.
• Assist in establishing key KPIs and tracking them to identify opportunities for financial improvement.
• Engage in strategic decision-making processes by evaluating key metrics with the team.
• Drive financial analysis during the preparation of monthly forecasts to track progress against financial goals.
• Take ownership of the annual budget process, creating key metrics to drive achievement of plans and engaging with business leaders to improve financial results.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure a balance meeting production requirements while maintaining proper controls, including management cycle counts and material variances.
• Handle capital requirements for the business, tracking against budgeted goals, and ensuring timely and proper filling of capital appropriation requests.
• Act as a liaison with personnel and audit teams to ensure information and requests are prepared accurately and on time.
• Develop and manage the finance department staff to improve talent within the organization while balancing workload.
• Utilize Accounting Software Systems and excel knowledge to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Ability to develop and manage an Annual Budget
• Proficient in Auditing procedures
• Familiarity with Budget Processes and planning
• Proficiency in KPI Reporting for business performance monitoring
• Knowledge of SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
• Expertise in Manufacturing Cost Accounting
