Description
ThePlant Controlleris a financial leadership role within a manufacturing facility, responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant level accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and cost analysis, while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This role also oversees the entire cost accounting function, including cost reports and financial insights, to support management in optimizing profitability by identifying cost reduction opportunities and operational efficiency improvements. Additionally, it involves active collaboration with plant managers to enhance operations, drive strategic financial decisions, and improve overall business performance

REPORTS TO:
Chief Financial Officer
Requirements
Accounting Operations:
+ Overseeing day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, cash management, leases, and fixed asset management
+ Ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
+ Perform inventory analysis including month end reports, journal entries and reconciliations of plant balances
+ Ensures accruals/reserves are sufficient and review of spend for correctness and appropriateness of classification
Cost Management:
+ Prepare KPI’s and detailed cost reports to identifying and implement cost-saving initiatives within the plant operations
+ Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure effectiveness of systems throughout the year
+ Establish standard cost, perform cost variance analysis and standard cost management in systems
+ Prepare cost forecasts for new products and projects to support pricing decisions
+ Prepare margin analyze including material costs, direct materials, labor, and overhead, to identify variances from standard costs and budgets.
Compliance and Audit Support
+ Ensuring adherence to GAAP accounting standards and company policies
+ Coordinating with internal and external auditors for plant audits
+ Managing compliance with relevant state and federal regulations
+ Coordinate with cycle count team to ensure effectiveness of systems throughout the year
+ Responsible for planning and overseeing annual physical inventory
Financial Planning & Analysis:
+ Developing and managing the plant budget, including forecasting and variance analysis.
+ Analyzing production and manufacturing costs, direct material consumption, labor costs, and inventory levels to identify areas for improvement.
+ Preparing comprehensive financial reports for plant management and senior leadership to support strategic decision- making
+ Collaborate with operational teams to develop and manage production budgets
Leadership and Team Management
+ Provides strong leadership and direction to the local plant management team to ensure sound financial and operational decisions
+ Leading and developing a team of accounting staff within the plant
+ Providing financial information, guidance and support to plant management
+ Collaborating with other departments including sales, supply chain, operations, quality control, and maintenance to achieve plant goals
+ Implement financial policies/ procedures as communicated by corporate
+ Develop local policies/ procedures in support of and consistent with corporate set policies

QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
+ Attention to detail, deadline-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ 5 years+ experience in manufacturing accounting and cost analysis along with financial modeling
+ Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders - both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work independently, as well as having leadership abilities to manage a team along with cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and third parties.
+ Expertise in cost accounting principles and practices
+ Leadership ability to manage a team and influence decision-making within the plant
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, (ERP/MRP) systems and financial software
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
+ Intellectually curious
+ Experience with Redzone, Quickbooks Enterprise and Fishbowl Inventory is a plus

Salary Description
$135,000 - $150,000 Yearly
