Plant Controller - Las Vegas, NV
This position is a strong business partner and a financial leader at the Las Vegas Board Plant. You will be expected to provide effective and relevant financial analysis to support management and help business leaders make effective decisions and identify opportunities to reduce operating costs and increase efficiencies at the plant. In this position, you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, month end processes, ensure accuracy of financials, coordinate with all of the relevant parties to ensure smooth efficient processes, as well as ensure compliance with internal controls. 10% of travel may be required to attend conferences, visit plant locations, support, and attend various meetings. **Plant Controlling Responsibilities** : + Manage timely completion of month-end financial close for the site + Analyze/reconcile accounts to ensure the balance sheet and costs are properly stated + Prepare and enter adjusting journal entries within the established deadlines + Prepare and analyze monthly operating cost variances to standard, prior month, prior year and provide meaningful commentary + Prepare and distribute financial deliverables for the site + Maintain proper spending controls + Lead and direct budgeting process for the site + Lead and direct annual standard cost roll for all manufactured products + Ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain, CertainTeed and Gypsum US policies and internal controls + Coordinate and follow up on annual stock, capital spares and MROs inventories + Coordinate and perform assets inventory at the frequency established by SG policy + Monitor/facilitate Capex project completions and fixed asset capitalizations/retirements + Support the development and implementation of policies and best practices by collaborating closely with other plant controllers in the business unit, foster standardization across the finance team **Analytical Business Performance Support:** + Support plant management team through meaningful analysis of costs and trends + Track net manufacturing savings/performance and identify opportunities to achieve targets + Identify (e.g. via cost deployment) and track cost savings opportunities + Perform scenario analysis and model outcomes for plant process changes, formulation changes, etc. + Improvement of site internal reporting to respond to the needs of key stakeholders + Challenge financial performance results, identify issues and proactively initiate analyses and solutions to business issues + Challenge departments in a constructive manner to drive improvement in the plant + Develop mid-month forecasts and propose action plans to take corrective actions before month end. + Prepare the deliverables and discuss financial figures during the monthly Ops-Finance reviews - - + .Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or related field with an emphasis on finance, required + Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, preferred + 3-5+ years of progressive experience in finance related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment, preferred + 10% of travel may be required to attend conferences, visit plant locations, support and attend various meetings + Must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills + Superior data management and modeling skills required. Experienced user of Microsoft Windows software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). SAP and G/L Wands, QlikView and other BI Tools, and financial consolidation systems experience preferred + Ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrating a mature and organized approach to work load + Prior direct or indirect management experience, preferred + Must have the ability to quickly and accurately assess a business situation, arrive at decisions in a timely manner and understand the ramifications of decisions is critical to this job **_What are our perks?_** We provide unique options to fit your unique lives!
