Plant Controller - Woodbridge

The primary responsibilities of the Plant Controller include ensuring the accuracy and reliability of accounts as well as providing strong analytical (data driven) support and recommendations to make business decisions. The individual is responsible for business performance analysis both commercial and operational with a focus on action-oriented recommendations to improve profitability while ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. This role will manage the timely completion of the month end financial close for the site.

They will analyze financial transactions within the ERP system to ensure that all postings are appropriate, that reporting fairly represents the financial position of the Woodbridge plant and the facility maintains strong internal controls that align with company policy. This position will include direct communication with both plant management as well as the central CTA finance team and shared services center.

Plant Controller Responsibilities

Support the evolution of S/4 HANA ERP Prepare and record all necessary plant (Woodbridge) related journal entries Manage the timely completion of the month-end financial close for the plant Demonstrate awareness of all elements of a plant’s financial statements Prepare all post month end close plant financial analysis, performance reports and meaningful commentary Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the plant level Prepare, maintain and analyze product standard costs including financial assumptions housed in the Advanced Variant Configurator (dynamic BOM and Routing system) Provide support and profitability analysis for customer-specific projects, including maintenance of the SAP Project Systems structures Support the analytical needs of CTA Finance, the Specialties Controller, as well as plant and line of business management Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability Prepare analyses to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions to plant issues • Ensure compliance with SGC, overall CertainTeed, CTA and Interior Products Group (IPG) policies and procedures Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory Assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests and facilitate/monitor Capex project completions Track/review cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting • Maintain proper spending controls Support Continuous Improvement initiatives Analyze and reconcile plant related balance sheet accounts Support external, internal, and statutory audits Travel and support to other sites or Corporate office may be required occasionally Ad hoc analysis as needed

Other duties such as:

Monthly and quarterly forecasts Review product and project costing, including labor and overhead rates and assist the Sr. Financial analyst with preparation of profitability reviews Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory Support capital expenditure appropriation request development Coordinate and support tri-annual fixed asset physical inventories
