Learn about the Danaher Business System (https://www.danaher.com/how-we-work/danaher-business-system) which makes everything possible. + The Plant Director in Indianapolis is responsible for leading and controlling all manufacturing operations for significant product lines within Beckman Coulter Life Sciences (BEC-LS). The position oversees the instruments, accessories, service parts, and consumables product lines at the Indianapolis 76th Street and Lake View facilities. This position reports to the Director of North American Manufacturing, is part of the Global Operations and Supply Chain organization in Indianapolis, and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Led 200+ associates driving policy deployment and key performance indicators (KPIs) driving all aspects of Environmental Health and Safety, Quality, Scheduling, Buying, Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Warehousing. + Ensure the customer requirements, shipment goals, business goals, and production plans are achieved, and that manufacturing capacity meets the sales plans. Develop business plans, allocate budgets and resources, staff, tools, and specialized support necessary for cost-effective operations. + Ensure the safety of associates and the environment through strong leadership engagement and adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and procedures. + Drive on-Time Delivery (OTD) to >95% of customer request dates through strong Value Stream management from scheduling, buying, production, warehousing, and shipping. + Continuously develop tactics to reduce standard costs by improving labor productivity, cycle times, expenses, overhead, scrap, and material costs. + Strong leadership commitment and discipline to DBS processes to ensure continuously improving and sustainable results, including but not limited to (Daily Management, Visual Management, Standard work, Dynamic KANBAN, IMAG. Heijunka Scheduling, etc.) The essential requirements of the job include + B.S. degree with a minimum of 20+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree with 18+ years’ experience in manufacturing (assembly, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, equipment manufacturing, process manufacturing) with 6+ in leadership roles. + Expertise in people management (leading, motivating, challenging, influencing) to drive change management in a fast-moving business with >200 people. + Commitment and success are demonstrated in continuous improvement tools and methodologies. + Affinity to work on the shop floor and lead by example; ability to influence decision-making with or without authority, facilitate groups with varied perspectives, and bring teams to agreement. High tolerance for ambiguity and demonstrated success working in a highly matrixed organization. + Excellent project management and prioritization skills. Solid eye for business. Able to deliver results in a shifting environment. + Ability and commitment to identify problems; apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root causes using data. Innovative and effective solution development, risk mitigation, and execution. + Communication skills that build productive relationships and influence others, both within the business and across organizations. Ability to interact with associates at all levels, extraordinarily good listening skills, and ability to present complex or new insights with clarity and simplicity. + Direct supply chain (purchasing, planning logistics) expertise. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Experience leading manufacturing value streams in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
