This position supports the energy efficiency pillar of Owens Corning’s decarbonization strategy at our Laurel, MS facility.  You will play a critical role in helping Owens Corning meet our Sustainability goals by decreasing the amount of energy used to produce our products and the carbon emissions associated with energy consumption.  The incumbent will work with a diverse set of stakeholders across the entire organization to achieve results.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Energy Related Capital Projects (50%)

Developing and analyzing project business casesPerforming engineering calculations for energy and cost savingsEstimating project costsManaging certain strategic projects for on biomass waste to energy solutions

Low Cost- No Cost Improvements (25%)

Identifying energy related low cost- no cost improvement opportunities at our facilityPlanning, coordinating, and facilitating on site energy kaizens or treasure hunt eventsMapping and tracking next stepsFollowing up on identified opportunities until closureReporting on implemented opportunities

Assessments on Energy Consuming Systems (25%)

Conducting field measurementsPerforming engineering analysesWriting high quality reports on findingsFollowing up on and eliminating barriers to implementing assessment findings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.  Preferred majors are Energy, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Three years’ experience in a similar role is desirable.The Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) certifications from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) are preferred.
