Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant/Project Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing or plant operations, coupled with extensive experience in project management and implementing plant initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
ResponsibilitiesLead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality within the plant.Oversee the maintenance and optimization of plant equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.Ensure all projects and plant operations comply with safety regulations and standards.Work closely with other departments, including production, quality assurance, and maintenance, to support plant initiatives and resolve operational issues.Maintain accurate records of project plans, progress, and outcomes, and prepare detailed reports for management.Provide training and support to plant personnel on new processes and equipment.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant engineering role, with a proven track record in project management.Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of food manufacturing processes and standards is a plus.Mechanical background will best translate.Experience with conveyors, packing machines in chemical or food/beverage manufacturing is highly desirable.Work Environment
This position is based in a smaller plant environment. The work schedule is typically Monday to Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm, with potential adjustments up to 30 minutes earlier or later. Overtime may be required, especially during the first several months for weekend project work. The role involves walking up stairs and the ability to stand on the floor for extended periods. The company offers health, dental, vision insurance, and 401k match up to 5% after conversion. Annual performance-based bonuses up to 5% are also available.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $45.67
