Plant Engineer-Geismar LA

Job Overview:

The HYCO Operation Excellence group has an opening for a Plant Engineer to support our HyCO production facilities in Southeast Louisiana (SELA). The successful candidate will be located primarily in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans, LA area and report to the SELA Region Technical Manager. He/She will work closely with the SELA Operations Director, facility managers and staff to solve technical problems, deliver productivity savings, and sustain safe, reliable, low cost production operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance, and turnaround organization in the optimization of plant operations
Process safety stewardship in all aspects: Process Safety Information, Change Management, Hazard Analysis and abnormal situation management, etc
Supporting safety and environmental compliance for assigned units
Delivery and support of initiatives to accomplish efficiency targets
Delivery and support of cost saving initiatives to accomplish productivity targets
Active support and participation in driving reliability initiatives through root cause analysis, idea generation and small project execution.

Other Requirements:

Flexibility in work schedule to support operations during startup, shutdown or unplanned events.Able to work in confined spaces and at elevated levels.Ability to travel about 10% of the time to area plants and regional office on occasion

Qualification:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineerin3-5 years of related experience, with 1 or more years in Hydrogen and/or Carbon Monoxide manufacturing preferred.
Process Simulation Modeling Experience with UniSim, Aspen, or Hysys
