Plant Engineer III

Single Point Authority for technical and equipment matters in the manufacturing environment providing direct support to the operations organization. The primary purpose of this position is to lead and facilitate process and asset related standardization, loss elimination, and risk management.
+ Project Support - Technical SME on project team representing area of responsibility. In this role, works to ensure the reliability, operability, and maintainability of new and modified assets. Leads medium size/low complexity projects for area of responsibility.
+ Cost Reduction - Drives cost reduction into the supply chain. Executes LCCA concepts to ensure the design and installation stages of projects are executed in order to minimize total cost of ownership. Ensures lessons learned and best practices are re-applied from other areas of the plant on the project.
+ Project Team Accountabilities - responsible for equipment design, specification, procurement, installation, and start-up of production floor equipment. Accountable to ensure that equipment purchased for the project starts up successfully and performs reliably long term. Accountabilities will include new equipment integration, overall manufacturing process flow design, equipment capability review and FAT's, coordination with vendors and suppliers, and on-site start-up support. Leads the development of commissioning and qualification plans for new or modified assets.
+ Problem Solving - Technical SME for manufacturing for problem solving and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Trains and mentors operations personnel.
+ Reliability - Technical resource and mentor for operations technical groups. Proactively engages with customer groups to help identify reliability issues and to drive improvements. Participates in RCA's, FMEA's, etc. as an equipment Subject-Matter-Expert.
+ Improvement - Conducts overall system needs/loss analysis on an on-going basis for area of responsibility to help direct focus and allocation of resources. Through this, also identifies potential long-term improvements or capital investments that would reduce cost to the business. Works directly with internal groups, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers to proactively research, develop, and introduce new technology and improvements. Champions new and innovative approaches and re-application.
+ Capacity Optimization - Works to evaluate and optimize the overall supply chain. Identifies means to obtain more output out of existing assets at a lower unit cost. Proactively identifies capacity bottlenecks and provides innovative solutions to address these gaps.
+ Standardization - Champions standardization in the manufacturing environment. Takes ownership of standardization through development of new standards where needed and keeps existing standards accurate and up to date. For project specific work, develops detailed and accurate engineering documentation.
