Plant Engineering Manager
**Overview** We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our team. This role will report directly to the plant manager. The Engineering Manager leads a staff of 2 focused on capital improvement, process engineering, and continuous improvement projects. This position is both leader and doer, working with leadership staff to execute projects in coordination with the Maintenance team. **Responsibilities** + Assist plant manager in developing plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates for all capital projects. + Oversee and manage the capital projects budget to ensure financial efficiency. + Supervise and coordinate the activities of outside contractors on both capital and non-capital projects. + Lead the coordination and execution of all capital projects. + Participate in the hiring and training of new employees to build a strong team. + Implement and enforc safety and health policies within the department to maintain a safe working environment. + Identify, plan and execute continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency. + Maintain thorough familiarity with all plant operations to ensure seamless workflow. + Implement and sustain Lean tools and concepts within department to drive productivity. + Assist operations management with 24/7 on call coverage. + Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals. **Qualifications** Education, Expereince + BS in engineering or technical area preferred. + 10+years experience in engineering or technical-related field in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities + Lean manufacturing experience and training a plus + Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, structural, electrical, and maintenance. + Strong management, verbal/written communication, and interpersonal skills. + Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. + PC skills Physical Demands & Work Environment + This position requires you to be on site at our Muncie, IN facility. + While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to fumes, dust, airborne particles, and extreme heat and humidity. + While much work will be performed in an office setting, significant time will be required in the manufacturing facility, where additional exposure is likely. + Noise levels in the manufacturing facility are usually high. + All employees are required to wear full face respirators inside the manufacturing facility. + Qualified candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb with minimal effort. + Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
