Here, you will make an impact by: + Supervises craftspeople in the installation, operation, and performance of maintenance on equipment and/or facilities for Plant Engineering. Evaluates and provides proper tools, equipment and information including any changes that may affect employees work environment. + Supervises production employees as needed to cover for when no other supervision is on site. + Monitors and maintains a safe work environment by reviewing appropriate standards, MSHA/CALOSHA requirements, and recognizing and resolving safety-related problems. + Complete administrative activities such as time / absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, coordinating daily work schedules, allocate work assignments, and regulate maintenance activities to meet specific plant engineering requirements. + Ensure employees receive training as specified to their craft and business needs maintenance of equipment and effective utilization of maintenance/contractor work force. + This position requires working 3rd shift and extended/weekend hours. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: + Associate's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND a minimum of one (1) year hands previous leadership, supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment. Experience coaching, mentoring and developing Supervisors and their teams OR + High School Diploma/ GED (completed and verified prior to start) AND a minimum of three (3) years previous leadership, supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment. Experience coaching, mentoring and developing Supervisors and their teams Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: + Strong hands-on mechanical equipment background + Proficient computer skills including Microsoft products and SAP PM + Strong communication skills and effective management of systems + Experience working in a union environment. + Experience with MSHA/mining environment and processes.
