Job Description Summary

AAM in looking for a Plant finance Manager for one of our locations in the Detroit Metro Area. Business advisor to the business unit leader: Commercial/business decision support (all cost estimates, quotations and investment analysis)

Job Description

 Forecast, budget & long range financial planning: Prepare and maintain approved local capital plan appropriation request - write process and follow to approval Local staffing         All operations in unit: Hire, coach, train and mentor business unit finance staffClose financial book monthly         Ensure policy compliance and ensure internal control function     Ensure local compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Ownership of balance sheet: Coordination/planning with corporate; Compliance with policies; Account reconciliation and review.Monitor and evaluate risks the business unit faces: Coordinate plan(s) with appropriate management Establish and drive execution of productivity and cost reduction initiativesCoordination of inventory valuation and API's (API's with materials) Labor negotiation costing/modeling     Preparation and ownership of ABC cost and part profitability  Timely communication of financial matters to corporate, including: Matters that may require special accounting treatment;      Items that are material (whether routine or not); Other as required         Develop processes and set infrastructure to measure, understand and monitor business unit results relative to action plans and milestones Local taxes             All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

Bachelors degree in Finance or accounting; or equivalent experienceMinimum of five years of manufacturing with Finance function
