Position Overview

Summary: Cultivate Success as a Plant Health Care Coordinator: Where Green meets Growth!.  The Plant Health Care Coordinator is responsible for the development of plant health care arborists and oversee overall plant health care department function within a specific territory.  This position mentors, teaches, trains, and engages new and existing plant health care arborists within the territory to further develop their skills in safe work practices, insect & disease management, and career advancement.  Works under general supervision. 

Job Duties

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions*): 
●    Production based field training of new and existing employees to aid in career development progression, employee engagement and skill development.  Must use best practices, Davey Safety & Training Manual, and other resources provided by the Davey Institute, follow state specific pesticide applicator rules & regulations.
●    Work with regional technical advisors to enhance training opportunities identified after their field visits with office.
●    Engage as a trainer for new employee orientation to include First Aid, CPR, Defensive Driving, company safety policies.
●    Mentor and engage new & existing employees to further enhance employee engagement, retention, and advancement.
●    Follow new hire onboarding program to ensure documentation and completion of new employee’s assignments in the learning management system as well as career development book.
●    Schedule and route plant health care team daily work ensuring correct timing for treatments and production goals being achieved.
●    Monitor and ensure state pesticide regulations and proper training documentation of applicators is followed.
●    Conduct engaged weekly plant health care meetings with plant health care team.
●    Assist with service calls and client complaints where necessary.
●    Participate and/or plan training programs and workshops for plant health care team.
●    Assist and train plant health care team on sprayer and truck light maintenance and equipment upkeep.
