Plant Manager - Enderlin, ND
The Plant Manager is a highly visible position within ADM’s growing Nutrition Division. In this role the manager oversees production capabilities for our nutrition plant located within our Enderlin processing complex. The Nutrition Plant has two processing lines, one producing Pea Isolate Protein and Starch from Canadian Yellow Peas and other line producing cooked Edible Beans.
Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for many of the day-to-day activities as well as long-term vision, capital execution, talent development and operations execution for the Pea and Edible Bean Processing lines. Plant Manager has 5 direct reports and responsibility for 40 non-union colleagues. Management of the plant requires effective leadership, communication, and self-motivation as well as an understanding of all pertinent aspects of safety, food safety, quality, production, plant goals, cost management, and colleague development.
Essential Functions:Ensures the safety of all operations colleagues through: Ensuring adherence to procedures designed to keep process and people safe.Compliance with occupational safety and health standards.Continuous improvements to company facilities, equipment, and safety programs.Develops and executes vision for long term improvement and sustainability of the complex.Interacts directly with plant leaders to develop desired operational results and colleague development.Ensure adherence to all aspects of food processing facility; maintaining facility GMPs, food safety plans and product quality.Coordinates operation of the production areas in order to comply with established safety, quality, and environmental standards set by the organization.Cascades corporate goals and establishes key performance indicators to drive plant performance.Provides regular feedback to team and structured performance reviewsEnsures successful execution of capex budget and prioritizing capital based on plant needs.Ensuring adherence to inventory controls to ensure accurate yield and accounting reports.Fosters culture of continuous improvement, driving process safety, personal safety, food safety, cost savings, process improvement, and facility projects to optimize efficiency of the plant.Ensures effective use of MOC tool to drive sustainable changeCommunicates effectively with external plant stakeholders; examples include commercial, supply chain and finance.Utilize experience, good judgment, and effective planning to accomplish goals, implement operational procedures and training, enforce company plans, policies and rules.Drives continuous improvement activities related to skill development in process operations and leadership. Mentors, coaches, and motivates colleagues in addition to assessing needs for training programsEnsures plant follows best practices in reliability centered maintenance, including use of CMMS.Manage and support the Performance Excellence systems to drive effective structure management within the plant, leveraging pillars as appropriate.Establish positive work atmosphere/culture that minimizes turnover. Active participant in hiring process, including interviewing external new hire candidates.Qualifications & Competencies:Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of oil refining processes and the ability to implement process improvements and adapt to changing demands.Leadership & Motivation: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a diverse team of employees, demonstrating leadership qualities across all levels of plant personnel.Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, capable of providing clear direction, feedback, and guidance. Ability to translate complex technical information for various audiences.Results-Oriented: A results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving divisional goals and optimizing performance.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data and factual information. Adept at identifying and addressing operational challenges.Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of large complex manufacturing production management experience, preferably in a processing environment.Excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
