Plant Manager

Role Summary: This plant manager role is responsible for leading the day-to-day manufacturing operations of the site in support of the site’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and all associated performance objectives. This role leads all manufacturing activities and processes to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards, a safe work environment, employee development and engagement, quality process execution resulting in a quality product, and schedule adherence to the production plan supporting on-time delivery to customers. This leadership role must demonstrate and coach enterprise leadership mindset behaviors, facilitating a process transformation and cultural transformation across the site. Travel is expected to be less than 10%.

Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing operations team to ensure the site’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and all associated performance objectives and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Actively lead the development of a vibrant Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture across the site. Partner with the site HSE Manager to ensure compliance to all HSE codes, standards, and guidelines. Support the growth of HSE programs, execute improvement activities, and facilitate cultural change to drive achievement of all HSE objectives.
- Develop a culture of employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, accountability, and job satisfaction to make the Raleigh site an employer of choice. Attract, identify, develop, and retain organization talent in an ongoing effort to support the talent management philosophy of the site. This includes all facets of talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, role clarity, and employee learning and development.
- Lead the implementation of employee training programs and career development activities so that the operations team is continually enhancing their performance capabilities. Continuously evaluate the operations team structure, staffing levels, and capabilities to ensure the resources are adequate for current and proposed operating plans.
- Establish process controls, training, and prevention methods to meet all applicable quality standards and relevant legal requirements. This includes compliance to the Raleigh site Quality Manual and associated procedures and work instructions, codes and standards, customer order quality requirements, and all other pertinent engineering, quality, and legal controls.
- In collaboration with the operations planning team, develop and execute production and resource plans so that customer delivery requirements are met or exceeded. Ensure that MRP master data and labor tracking processes are accurate and adequate for the purposes of capacity and work center planning, day-to-day schedule adherence, labor utilization and efficiency analysis, and process quality control.
- Partner with the site Continuous Improvement team and other site functions to lead and implement operational improvements and drive best practices that will result in improvements in key operating metrics. Drive the deployment of Lean principles and practices. Ensure the team is leveraging Lean training and coaching opportunities and fostering a Lean culture through on-going Lean projects, problem solving methods, and daily work management systems.
- Develop and implement a manufacturing strategy, facilities and equipment maintenance program, and capital spending plan that meets the ongoing and future needs of the business for facility, equipment, and productivity sustainment and improvement.
- As a site leader, demonstrate unwavering commitment to the Flowserve Values and Behaviors, driving a culture of high-performance in the way we think, act, and operate. Maintain strict adherence to the Flowserve Code of Conduct, and flow down the same expectations throughout the operations team.

Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience leading a team in an engineered manufacturing environment where Lean principles are central to the daily operating approach.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a large multi-functional team. Must have the ability to delegate effectively, manage successfully through influence, and mentor and develop other people leaders.
- Prior success with developing and executing a functional operating and improvement strategy and management system, including PDCA cycle management or equivalent.
- Experience collaborating and communicating with customers, sales teams, and other external business stakeholders, including executive leadership team members.
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial statements and expense accounts, including profit and loss, costs of sales, and balance sheet.
- Excellent cultural sensitivity and adaptability with the ability to influence and drive change across various organizations.
- Experience in an engineered job-shop manufacturing environment with an understanding of various manufacturing processes including CNC and manual machining, high-pressure vessel testing, and satellite weld hard facing.
- Knowledge and experience with the nuclear quality and engineering requirements of ASME Section III, 10CFR 50 Appendix B, and RCC-M.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Certification.
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 8-10 years relevant experience
