Position Summary
The Plant Manager is the site leader responsible for the safety, regulatory compliance, operation, colleague development and leadership, and performance of the Golden Peanut Crush & Refinery site located in Dawson, GA. This position leads a team of colleagues in supervisory and operational roles. The Plant Manager is responsible for leading directly and through others by providing motivation, communication, training, coaching and discipline as needed within division guidelines for all colleagues in their area. It is critical for the site's success that the Plant Manager can successfully collaborate with peers at other Golden Peanut/ADM locations and beyond to deliver safe results.
The site operates 24/7/365, and this position has accountability to support the site across all shifts.
Job Duties
As the site leader, the Plant Manager is responsible for playing an active role in coaching others in programs including human safety, environmental standards, quality, and Performance Excellence. Leads the Operation of the Plant to maintain personnel and process safety:Maintains an environment in which personal safety is the top priorityEnsures the team works safe and the department maintains compliance of all health and safety regulationsEnsures the operation of the site is carried out with all regulatory permits, laws & regulations, and best practicesAligns site goals with divisional goals and communicates the direction and priorities to the site.Works to understand operations and coordinates operation of the plant to ensure adherence to established product, environmental, safety, housekeeping & quality guidelines set by the companyDemonstrates ADM Core Values in decision making and actions.Collaborates with work groups across the organization to develop a strategic vision for the department that is put into action through the department deployment plan.Ultimate responsibility for overall site performance.Models the way of the Performance Excellence journey:Leads and coaches the team to leverage continuous improvement tools to achieve department and plant KPI's.Actively participates in the daily production meetings and ensures that deviations from KPIs and incidents are driven to Root CauseDemonstrate commitment to improving safety, processes, and efficiency of the plant by delivering the site deployment plan in both ‘what’ (metrics) and ‘how’ (means).Work in collaboration with Centers of Excellence to improve technology and reliability of the operations.Is an Effective Communicator:Demonstrate effective communication skills in both face to face and written communication.Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and proceduresPerforms Colleague Performance Reviews and meets with Colleagues on a regular basis to review goals and individual development plansCollaborates with HR to manage performance of site leadershipTakes on additional roles and responsibilities to continually develop self-and/or other teamsJob RequirementsHands on and consistent physical plant presence as needed.Establish a deep technical understanding of operations.Prior experience leading / supervising people.Bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent experience) and 10 years of supervisory experience preferred.Demonstrated self-starter and able to self-monitor with minimal oversight.Results driven to provide support to achieve the goals established by leadership.The ability to provide motivation to direct reports and demonstrate leadership qualities to all plant personnel.Demonstrated decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.Effective cost managementExcellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.Computer skills and capability with Microsoft ProductsApplicant must be able to work in all types of climates both inside and outside including extreme hot and cold temperatures, noisy environments, heights, dusty environments, all of which require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.Ability to climb stairs, access ladders, catwalks, and elevated working platforms across all hours of shift working time. The job also requires some lifting, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time, work with heights, bending, kneeling and respirator qualified.Applicants must be willing to work whenever the plant requires it, which may include nights, weekends, or holidays.Experience that would be beneficial, but not required: pulp and paper or cotton oilseed processing.Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
