Job Details:
Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing all functional areas of a poultry processing plant. This includes the efficient operation of three production shifts, maintenance personnel, safety, shipping, receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality, and process improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Motivating managers to provide guidance and programs to enhance the skill level of their employees.Resolving issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods.Reviewing cost and performance data to determine areas that need improvement.Compiling a monthly expense and efficiency report.Promoting and explaining the TQM philosophy to employees.Obtaining approval and executing all capital improvements for plants.Facilitating the Talent Mapping and Succession Planning Programs.Supporting the Retention Program.Ensuring food safety, food quality, and legality.Initiating discussions and implementing improvements in all phases of production.Assisting in identifying, evaluating, and correcting problems.Performing other responsibilities as needed.Requirements
Education:
Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience:
Progressive 8 plus years’ experience. Applicable experience in the food processing industry preferred.
Computer Skills:
This job requires general knowledge of computer programs used in the operation of the production plant, such as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). A working knowledge of SAP systems is preferred.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Travel:
6 to 11 trips per year.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing several groups of personnel who perform diverse tasks and activities in more than one department.
