Summary:

Lead and manage employees on safety, operations, sales, finance, equipment, and critical support functions.  Work with General Manager to ensure effective execution of company operational goals and growth strategy. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Duties and Functions)

Promote a safe working culture for all employees; work with safety and field personnel to minimize risk and increase safety for employees at all times. Responsible for daily operations including safe production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems within company’s operations for ready mix plant. Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company goals. Provide leadership and direction to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. Build effective teams and develop (direct reports) for future opportunities. Ensure that all crews have the tools and training to operate safely at all times and that all federal, state and local laws concerning safety, environment and other applicable areas are adhered to. Other duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in construction management or similar is preferred, but not required.

 

WORK REQUIRMENTS

Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined per company policy. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIMENTS

Related experience in construction field, minimum 5 years (desired) Plant management or related experience 3+ years minimum (highly desired) Understanding of basic accounting principles. Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications. Strong communication and leadership skills are necessary. Be knowledgeable of materials and equipment needed to perform tasks. Ability to use decision making skills for cost effective solutions on projects.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Ability to walk or stand greater than one third of the time, or sit no greater than a third of the time Ability to climb stairs/ladders to examine equipment at heights. Ability to move/carry objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Able to work in all weather conditions.

 

 WORK REQUIMENTS

Ability to wear respirator in workplace conditions containing fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. Will work between a standard office and field operations environment.
