Job Title: Plant Manager - Multi Site

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Operations/Publications Manager, the Plant Manager will lead and oversee all site operations, including EH&S, Regulatory Compliance, Production, Quality, Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Site Services, and Talent.
The role requires leading operations, engineering, quality control, ISO management, and plant administration. It involves driving plant improvement through lean manufacturing, 5-S, ISO, Lean-Sigma, and employee engagement. Performs duties and responsibilities personally or through subordinates. The candidate should be a change agent who can build a strong, results-driven team.
The incumbent must deliver on the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) by setting clear goals, providing strong mentorship, and coaching the team to ensure customer satisfaction and consistent product quality. Key Responsibilities
Safety
Manages a safety-focused organization that emphasizes safety and housekeeping practices and programs, such as SunCare, 5-S, and process safety management (PSM), to reduce hazardous conditions and prevent lost-time accidents. Oversee the site's safety OSHA program in collaboration with Corporate EHS and plant leadership teams. Identify and manage operational risks, including EHS, regulatory, quality, cost, equipment optimization, and reliability.
Leadership
Positively leads and motivates the workforce, managing employee/labor relations including training, counseling, discipline, and conflict resolution. Promotes a mindset of continuous improvement to remove process and policy bottlenecks. Fosters a Sun Chemical value-based work environment, promotes diverse perspectives, and builds a high-performance team for strong employee satisfaction.
People Development
Leads operations focused on hiring and developing talent across all levels of the plant. Champions organizational and human resource initiatives, including performance management, succession planning, and training & development planning, which influence both team and individual performance. Cultivates a leadership culture that prioritizes reward and recognition programs, fostering positive employee relations, engagement, and recognition.
Customer Value System
Oversees and leads the planning, organization, and control of technical functions, ensuring products meet specifications and control limits as agreed upon by technical, sales, and customers, and are delivered on time and in full. Investigates customer complaints from production, technical, or administrative perspectives to determine causes, implement solutions, and monitor outcomes. Reviews daily reports related to the status of production, technical, and administrative matters, providing recommendations or advice on actions and monitoring the results. Maintains an ongoing ISO program and certification.
Productivity
Leads production planning and coordination, considering sales forecasts, delivery dates, inventory, raw material availability, and freight rates for shipments. Supervises administrative functions, ensuring timely reporting of production, sales, inventory, payroll, and employee data within policy standards. Develops metrics to improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks and defect rates, lower costs, and enhance quality and customer satisfaction. Monitors production techniques based on management ideas and personal experience. Promote continuous improvement and Six Sigma practices. Represents Sun Chemical in community outreach and relations with state and local authorities. Manages cost center expenses and drives productivity.
Other
Administers corporate, regional, unit, and local policies and procedures consistently in accordance with their terms and conditions. Maintains effective communication and working relationships within site departments, branch network, and externally with sales and other corporate, regional, or unit personnel through written and verbal communication with the site team, customer service, and sales personnel.
Requirements
7-10 years’ experience in supervision, employee relations, management and operations in a manufacturing environment. Must be metrics-driven and experienced in establishing and maintaining performance-based metrics to achieve Key Responsibilities. Experience using an ERP system, SAP preferred, but not required. Understanding of an automated production environment. Proven track record of driving continuous improvement projects with measurable results. Financial/P&L analysis and bottom-line orientation. Experience driving an effective rewards and recognition culture. Conflict resolution, coaching and team development experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education
BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or related discipline.
