About the role
 

Our production team, composed of 100 people, is integrated in the Surface organization and focuses on production in collaboration with maintenance and other support functions. As a Surface Production Specialist/Trainer, you will assist with standard work deployment and training operators within surface production. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the surface organization and have a positive impact on safely producing soda ash and derivative products. You will be accountable for: Manage the department to include: develop policies and procedures, define team structure and the resources / critical skills needed, define goals and objectives for the department, and maintain expertise on the ERP and data information systems utilized by Customer Service. Lead safety and participate in performance management for production KPIs including designing common rounds for each area, with the intent of implementing digital rounds Assist with operator orientation into the production department and maintain training requirements and facilitate training for new operators as needed. Build, administer and review 45 day, 90 day, 2nd job, field testing and CRO tests for operators and provide clarification as needed Review production performance and determine interventions such as flyboils, acid washes, or course corrections and communicate such findings, provide process troubleshooting and use these opportunities to teach operators best practices Support interdepartmental agreement with maintenance and SolMax efforts and align with Star Factory initiatives and the manufacturing excellence program. Communicate continuous improvement efforts & new methods of working. Review workplace exams and provide feedback. Develop and maintain best practices for field tasks and incorporate into training checklists. Communicate all operator alerts for review and SOP revision if necessary We offer a permanent contract based on site.

 

About you

 

Minimum of five years of experience in plant operations and safety practices Previous supervisory experience is a plus but professional conduct is a requirement. Competencies: Ability to evaluate situations, identify corrective actions and use as teaching moments Ability to cohesively work together with others and collaborate effectively Ability to orientate, train, motivate and evaluate skilled employees to achieve optimum efficiency and productivity Behaviors: Ability to analyze written and verbal information with above average communication skills, possess time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks Proficiency of Microsoft Office, Google Mail, Google Drive, etc. Must demonstrate initiative and self-motivation to work with limited supervision

 

About the pay and benefits

 

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the USA base pay reasonably expected for this role is $90,000/yr to $125,000/yr, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
