Plant Supervisor 1st Shift
We are hiring! We are looking for a hands-on 1st Shift Plant Supervisor to join our growing team in Taylor, MI. It is a great opportunity for an experienced Plant Supervisor to join our company and manage the daily plant operation and plant maintenance.
As Plant Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented operations team. Your primary goal is to properly organize staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the day. Your position will also include directing, disciplining, training, and assisting manufacturing employees in a factory setting.
Usual working hours for this role is 6am - Monday to FridayKey role focus:Facilitates hiring, training, developing, and ongoing floor support and directionPerforms quality checks on all smart containers entering and exiting the facilityConducts regular quality assurance training to staff in line with metricsCreates and offers solutions to troubleshoot and solve operational inefficienciesMonitors plant equipment and makes minor repairs when possibleManages stock control, inventory, and ordering metrics and provides analysis and feedback to Plant Managers and SupervisorsManages projects as directed by the Plant Manager or Senior Managers on an as needed basisDevelops streamlined operations such as process flow mapping, time in motion studies, risk assessments, and other continuous improvement functions to ensure alignment with metric targetsOversees regulatory compliance, ISO, and AQIS administration for the siteEnsures preventive program maintenance is done at the end of each shiftEngages in effective communication across teams, departments, and organization by using Daniels’ communication systems and platformsEffectively manages allocation of resources to meet objectives (headcount, budget, scheduling, etc.)Assists in the annual performance review processDevelops and maintains a productive, professional, and customer-service oriented teamEnsures compliance with necessary safety procedures (weekly training of workplace, health and safety)Ensures that a facility maintenance and upkeep program is developed and maintainedKeeps machinery, floor workplaces, and operating areas free of clutter, debris, or other OSHA hazardsWhat we are looking for:3+ years plant/warehouse leadership experience (or relatable experience)Mechanical backgroundFamiliar with OSHA and similar guidelinesProven experience in improving processes and proceduresOccasionally working in confined spaces; extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing.
