Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesThe Plant Supplier Quality Engineer - SQA is responsible for implementing process control programs that will assure production of finished goods that meet or exceed customer-specified requirements. He/she leads continuous improvements by utilizing the appropriate quality tools and provides data analysis. The main missions of the role are to:
• Conduct multiple projects simultaneously ranging from feasibility phase to post launch quality assessment and throughout production life
• Facilitate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with Engineering in conjunction with advanced quality-planning activities and monitor the status throughout production life
• Develop, implement and maintain Statistical Process Control techniques
• Assure compliance of the documented quality system (QS 9000/TS16949) and promote consistency throughout the organization
• Conduct investigations to determine causes of defects, make recommendations for corrective action
• Maintain customer complaint log and facilitate and participated in the corrective action process
• Instruct and train personnel in techniques and use of audit and testing devices
• Monitor and revise quality documentation as required
• Visit customers and suppliers when necessary. Acts as a liaison to internal and external customers
• Review all production methods for compliance to quality standards and for improvement of product and quality standards
• Perform all responsibilities with QS9000/TS16949 system requirements
• Review the process of new Bought-Out Parts (BOP) with the support and the co-operation of the Advanced Supplier Quality (ASQ) Engineer and/or the Program Quality Engineer
• Manage the process audits of existing Bought-Out Parts (BOP) where the parts are the subject of a problem-solving action. Manage supplier's action
• Consolidate required supplier quality indicators for the plant and communicate them to the Quality Manager
• Initiate and validate corrective and preventive actions with the suppliers for Part Approval Process (PPAP), only after acceptance by the Program Quality Engineer and the plant quality department
• Responsible for annual part certification process (PPAP) for all existing Bought-Out Parts (BOP)
• Responsible for managing incoming inspection, quality hold processes and areas
• Responsible for managing quality hold inventories in SAP and to be complaint with Forvia ICB guidelines
• Responsible for managing supplier charge backs, problem solving, processing RMA’s, immediate containment actions during a quality spill
• Approve ASQ program transition document and help compile 'lessons learned’
• Adhere to the Code of Ethics
• Adhere to Code of Management
• Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have/be:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with a specialization in quality (preferred)
• Preferably 3 years experience as an quality engineer in an automotive environment
• Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
• Ability to work in a matrixed organization
