Plant Truck Driver - Gramercy, LA

Turner Industries Group is seeking a Plant Truck Driver for plant work in the Gramercy, LA area. The driver will operate a Tractor Trailor or Yard Dog with a pneumatic trailer within the plant to load rock lime from a conveyor discharge spout, navigate and back into a congested area to unload into the Lime Bin. \n

The schedule for this work is rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Occasionally, when the level of the bin reaches critical state, work schedule will change to 24-hour shifts with short notice.\n

Qualifications:.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nValid Driver's License (CDL preferred, but not required)\nPossess a valid TWIC Card (or ability to obtain a TWIC card)\nPhysical: crouch, reach in crouch position, stand and crouch on pneumatic trailer with safety harness on, climb stairs and 8' ladder, lift\/carry 45 lb. max\nDependable Vehicle to commute to Gramercy, LA area\nSafety first attitude for oneself and those around them\nBe cooperative with management in a continuously changing environment\nBe a self-starter and proactive in job duties (Take Ownership)\nBe forward looking and future minded; this position has potential to grow further in the company\n\n\nGeneral Description: \n\n\nOperate & Inspect routinely Truck and Pneumatic Trailer, communicating all deficiencies\nMaintain\/Organize all Paperwork (JSAs, Equipment Inspections, Workplace Exams)\nSafely back into congested area for trailer unloading\nAssist with Railcar positioning and unloading of railcars occasionally\nMaintain communication with site supervision on all changes\/issues that arise\n\n

Functional Requirements:\n

Moves hand and foot levers to equipment; interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed; reads and interprets load charts; may assemble or disassemble equipment or material on construction projects; may be required to manipulate equipment on un-level working surfaces; may perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines\/equipment.\n

Qualification Standards:\n\nPre-employment qualification test\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation (20\/40 vision, with or without correction, required)\nHazard Communication orientation\/test\nTurner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination\nANSI approved corrective eye wear (Z87)\nJob site orientation\nJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)\nSafety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)\nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place\n\n

Physical Involvement:\n

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and\/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching\/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.\n
