The Plastics Engineer performs functions to provide engineering support to manufacturing, quality, and sales operations for assigned products. The role involves identifying extrusion requirements, writing specifications, analyzing system performance, designing for spec compliance, documenting manufacturing processes, and tracking and expediting products through phases of validation and manufacturing, all while adhering to established policies.
ResponsibilitiesProvide engineering support for extrusion processes and tooling.Support internal manufacturing, quality, and sales operations for all assigned projects.Identify extrusion requirements and write specifications.Analyze system performance and design for specification compliance.Document manufacturing processes.Track and expedite products through phases of validation and manufacturing.Provide research and development support for all assigned processes.Present research as needed.Essential Skills1-3 years of experience working with the manufacturing of plastics and polymers in any industry.Experience with polymer and plastic injection molding.Proficiency in new product development and extrusion manufacturing.Experience in medical device and plastic extrusion.Knowledge of polymer manufacturing, process improvement, and process development.Experience with capital equipment and capital projects.Mechanical engineering and process engineering skills.Knowledge of validation processes, including IQ, OQ, PQ.Experience with extruding, extruders, and extrusion machines.
