Watts Water Technologies is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead process control and improvement initiatives in polymer extrusion and downstream fabrication. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, quality, and safety across manufacturing operations.
You Will:
Provide daily engineering support for extrusion and downstream fabrication operations.
Develop and maintain process control plans, work instructions, and ensure adherence to quality requirements and engineering standards.
Apply statistical methods to enhance process capability, repeatability, first-pass yields, and product conformance.
Collaborate with Maintenance teams to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for equipment.
Participate in kaizen initiatives to boost quality, productivity, and safety.
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, leveraging expertise in product design, materials, tooling, equipment capabilities, and engineering principles.
Lead projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Research, justify, and manage capital equipment purchases, overseeing projects from proposal through installation and training.
Design machinery, tools, and fixtures using 3D solid modeling software.
Develop specifications for new and existing manufacturing machines and equipment.
Create and update process routings and standard cost data.
Ensure compliance with Watts Water Technologies safety policies and procedures, promoting safe work practices at all times.
You Have:
Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Polymer, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing, specifically in polymer processing and extrusion.
Solid knowledge of polymer extrusion processes and downstream fabrication.
Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
Advanced computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
A focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
