The Opportunity:
The Plate Maker is responsible for preparing flexographic printing plates to support high-quality production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and knowledge of flexographic printing processes and equipment. This role will be responsible for the following:
* Fabricate, inspect, and maintain flexographic printing plates to meet production specifications.
* Operate and troubleshoot plate-making equipment, including exposure units, digital imagers, processors, and Kongsberg cutting table.
* Review LEN files and ensure accurate template is applied using prepress software (e.g., Esko).
* Perform quality control checks on plates for alignment, thickness, and dot formation.
* Collaborate with the prepress and production teams to meet tight deadlines.
* Maintain plate-making equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Manage plate inventory
What you need to succeed:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* 2 years minimum experience in printing, platemaking or equivalent technical education or experience
* Strong understanding of flexographic printing processes and materials.
* Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills.
* Good problem-solving skills
* Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
* Must be able to work all shifts
* Basic math skills
* Ability to operate advanced computer controls
* Ability to perform essential functions of the job
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
* Ability to effectively maintain raw materials inventory
