As the Platform Engineer, working in Technology Services (https://it.tamu.edu/) ,y ou will ensure that M365 and Google Workspace platforms and tools are configured to meet the organization's needs for productivity, collaboration, and security, while providing a seamless and efficient experience for end-users. This will involve leveraging best practices and recommendations from both Microsoft and Google to optimize the deployment and management of these platforms, including specific tools and services like Microsoft's Power Platform and Fabric.
Salary: $60,174 - $73,548
Schedule: Working hours are 8-5 Monday-Friday with occasional after hours/weekends as needed. The selected candidate would be expected to work onsite in College Station, Texas
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience and/or training
+ 5 years of IT experience related to any of the following areas: cloud technologies, IT automation, networking, hosted solutions, software development, IT service delivery or related
+ Export control pos ition requiring a United States Citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted asylum or refugee status
While not required , a well-qualified candidate would also possess one or more of the following:
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology related discipline
+ Strong understanding of M365 and Google Workspace architecture and best practices for managing users, data, and security
+ Familiarity with managing devices with tools such as Intune and EntralD
+ Experience with user provisioning, access control, and security policies in cloud environments
+ Familiarity and knowledge of AI tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini, GitHub Copilot, or Amazon Code Whisperer
