Platform Engineer / DevOps Specialist
Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Platform Engineer / DevOps Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud-native platforms with a focus on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). You will leverage your expertise in Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and Confluent Cloud to drive infrastructure automation, ensure high availability, and enable seamless deployment pipelines. This is a Full Time contract position for six months to start with.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Platform Engineering: Design, deploy, and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters to support scalable and secure application hosting. Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for cloud resource provisioning. Automate configuration management using tools like Helm for Kubernetes applications.
• Cloud Operations: Manage and optimize Azure cloud resources to ensure cost efficiency, security, and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Continuous Integration and Deployment: Collaborate with development teams to create and maintain CI/CD pipelines that integrate seamlessly with AKS. Ensure smooth deployment of services while adhering to best practices in DevOps.
• Data Streaming with Confluent Cloud: Configure and manage Confluent Cloud environments to enable robust Kafka-based streaming solutions. Integrate Confluent Cloud with AKS and other services to support data-driven applications.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and product managers, to understand requirements and deliver platform solutions. Provide hands-on support during platform incidents and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Overall 6 plus years experience in Platform engineering/Devops.
• In-depth experience with Azure services, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and troubleshooting clusters.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, especially Terraform.
• Experience using Helm for Kubernetes application packaging and deployment.
• Knowledge of Confluent Cloud and Kafka-based streaming solutions.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and container orchestration concepts.
• Strong Linux system administration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Azure (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with other cloud providers or multi-cloud strategies.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
