As a Platform Engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to be part of enterprise-wide information technology programs designed to provide foundation capabilities upon which business applications, services, and solutions are securely developed, deployed and operated.
In this role you will be part of the pipeline as a product team, engineering capabilities across the SDLC / DevOps lifecycle and enabling internal customers to successfully leverage Capital Group’s cloud ecosystem. Your customers will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. You will be part of a product aligned portfolio, leveraging Agile frameworks to deliver on designs and development of platform capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable and robust platform solutions.
Develop and maintain enterprise grade CI/CD solutions as part of cloud platform capabilities.
Collaborate with software and platform engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality features.
Optimize system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
Setup and optimize monitoring of the platform, and troubleshoot platform issues, providing timely resolutions.
Pursue self-service, automation capabilities and solutions to reduce development cycle-time.
Partners alongside security, risk and compliance teams to understand and ensure systems and solutions protect the Enterprise.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our platform.
Perform root cause analysis on incident and problem tickets. Recommend path to improvement.
Demonstrate technical leadership skills to drive the team to results.

Required Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
10+ years experience building large scale, robust platform solutions with emphasis on coding, problem-solving, and design skills. Experience designing/developing API’s and microservices.
10+ years experience in DevOps/DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
You are proficient in IaC tools and techniques such as Terraform, Cloud Formation
Proficiency in Software Development with languages such as Python, Java or Go
API Development with a focus on product integrations, automated testing and stable contracts
You possess in-depth experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
You have a mastery of GitOps and Kubernetes orchestration.
You have experience applying DevOps practices throughout the SDLC lifecycle using technologies such as Harness, Github, Nexus.
Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure as code.
You have experience writing test automation and unit tests, as well as performing integration testing across multiple product integrations.
Your skills also include knowledge and working with Observability platforms like Splunk, Datadog, Grafana
Familiarity with Internal Developer Platforms such as Spotify Backstage
You possess the skills to administer and troubleshoot in DevOps/Deployment.
You have scripting and development skills in Shell, Bash.
You have a strong desire to lead, mentor and contribute to a culture of excellence.
Proficient technical documentation skills, with emphasis on High-Level and Low-Level Design.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $148,045-$236,872
New York Base Salary Range: $156,935-$251,096
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
