Additionally, our client designs, builds, operates, and secures scalable cloud and IT infrastructures to meet their customers’ near-term needs and fulfill their long-term requirements.

 

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a skilled Platform Security Engineer to manage and enhance their AWS cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on Identity Access Management (IAM). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AWS services such as IAM, KMS, and S3, coupled with a solid background in Python, Linux, and Bash scripting. This role will play a crucial part in writing IAM policies, managing users and roles, and configuring S3 permissions and policies, ensuring the security and integrity of the cloud environment.

Manage and configure AWS services, including IAM, KMS, and S3, to support and secure cloud infrastructureDevelop, implement, and maintain IAM policies, manage users and roles, and configure S3 permissions and policiesUtilize Python and Linux expertise to support and maintain the package mirror, ensuring efficient and secure operationsTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services and cloud infrastructureUse Bash scripting to automate tasks, enhance efficiency, and streamline troubleshooting processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and compliant cloud operationsMonitor and assess the security of cloud infrastructure, identifying and mitigating risks as necessaryStay up-to-date with emerging AWS technologies and best practices in cloud security

Requirements

Proven experience in managing AWS services, including IAM, KMS, and S3Strong background in Python and Linux, with specific experience supporting and maintaining package mirrorsProficiency in Bash scripting for automation and troubleshootingIn-depth understanding of Identity Access Management (IAM) practices, including writing policies, managing users and roles, and configuring S3 permissions and policiesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Requirements

Experience with other AWS services and tools for cloud security and managementFamiliarity with DevOps practices and toolsKnowledge of cloud compliance standards and best practicesExperience in a DoD or government cloud environment

Education/Certification Requirements

Current DoD 8570 Certification is required
