**Who we’re looking for:**
Rogers is seeking a Platform System Analyst to focus on monitoring and supporting our critical infrastructure 24X7 which includes Windows, Linux virtual machines, Netapp Storage, Hp and Cisco blades.
**What you’ll do:**
+ Accountable for 24/7/365 monitoring and service restoration of the core Data Centre infrastructure.
+ Working on a ‘4 on 4 off’ rotation schedule that can include weekends evening and overnight shifts.
+ Reviewing the work queue and sharing the workload for incoming service requests, escalations and incidents.
+ Analyzing and interpreting incoming alert situations and mitigating risk to services.
+ Participating in postmortems when required.
+ Supporting front-line staff through escalations received.
+ Collaborating with other technical support teams to ensure swift resolution of incidents and to follow up to get resolution on outstanding items.
+ Responsible for managing and executing change controls against server hardware and operating environments (i.e., updates, hardware replacements, builds/new infrastructure, and patching) often after business hours.
+ Creating and maintaining technical documentation and procedures for the team.
+ Contributing to process development within the team to support the Rogers vision of delivering an Exceptional Customer Experience.
+ Making recommendations to improve department processes and introduce technologies or automation that will enhance efficiency.
**What you bring:**
+ 4 - 5 years of hands-on experience in a support role managing server environments.
+ A solid understanding of VMware, VCentre, Linux, Windows, Cisco /HP Blade servers, and storage technologies including Nutanix.
+ Hands-on experience with various monitoring platforms (Vsure,Netcool,HP Openview, OpenNMS, SCOM, Splunk experience would be an asset etc.)
+ Post-secondary or technical diploma/degree/certification.
+ Current technology certifications in any of the supported solutions is an asset.
+ Experience in a multi-service, multi-vendor environment.
+ In-depth knowledge of internet protocols and internet-related services including email, DNS, DHCP, SNMP as well as other related protocols.
+ Solid understanding of Service Management principles and experience utilizing ServiceNow and CMDB.
+ Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, using a structured and methodical approach to solving problems.
+ A great communicator, clear and concise (both in written and verbal).
+ Previous experience working rotational 24/7/365 shift work.
+ A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer-focused approach toward issues
