Job Description
The PLC Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment. This role requires strong mechanical skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, conveyor systems, and PLC usage.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate in and direct troubleshooting activities in the event of equipment failure, including failure analysis, problem-solving, and prevention.Work with the production team to make rapid and educated decisions regarding issues at hand, troubleshoot systems, and resolve issues through investigation, analysis, testing, and follow-up.Maintain, test, and upgrade all production equipment.Install and test new food manufacturing, packaging, and processing equipment.Interface with machine tools and special equipment or test modules, troubleshoot existing equipment for electrical or electronics failures, and modify machines to improve or update.Perform preventative maintenance and repair as required, in addition to planned mechanical maintenance duties.Participate in a continuous improvement culture while following safe workplace practices.Develop positive and respectful interactions with managers, supervisors, maintenance technicians, and machine operators.Perform other duties as required by supervisor or manager.Essential SkillsExperience with Allen-Bradley PLCs.Proficiency in communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, DeviceNet, and Profibus.Knowledge of motor control and HMI software, including FactoryTalk SE and ME.Understanding of control loops (PID) and I/P converters.Ability to write messages from PLC to PLC and understand function blocks.Electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair skills.Experience with RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, or RS Logix 5 software.Ability to go online with Control Logix, Compact Logix, SLC500, or PLC5 using either Ethernet I/P, DH+, or RS232.Ability to download PLC programs as necessary.Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics.Ability to use a multimeter and work in control panels with up to 480VAC.Additional Skills & QualificationsThree (3) plus years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs.Must understand symbols on P&ID’s and tag references on line layouts.Ability to replace and configure AB Powerflex 40, 400, and 525 VFDs and Yaskawa V1000 and P1000 VFDs.Ability to replace Panelview 550 and download applications using Panelbuilder 32.Ability to replace Panelview Plus and download applications using RS View Studio Machine Edition.Aptitude for further development of technical skills.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
All current openings are on the night shift. The work schedule is from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. The weekly schedule is 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, and employees will be off work every other weekend. Everyone works a half-day on Mondays, whether it is a regularly scheduled on day or off day.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $87360.00 - $97760.00/yr.
