Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12-hour shift, 7pm to 7:30am

Work Location: 1801 N 36th St, Grand Forks, ND

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $23.50 per hour plus shift differential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures line coverage for assigned shift, referencing the shift schedule and call-in schedule to assist in this process, as well as direction from Packaging Manager.Coordinate and execute packaging tasks as defined.Maintain safe and sanitary conditions of the packaging areas including, execution of sanitation list (MSS) and work area organization.Communicates any issues affecting packaging quality / efficiency outside the positions control to the PackagingManager in a timely manner (as defined by Manager).Coordinate proper execution of repack projects.Coordinates staging of packaging supplies and WIP.Over sees and performs packaging changeovers as needed.Provides and maintains training on equipment set up, operations, and organization of the area.Ensures parameter sheets are being properly referenced for each production run. Communicates any deviations or necessary modifications of the parameter sheets to the Packaging Manager.Ensures all packaging paperwork is completed and submitted properly, including PAF’sFill out paperwork in a legible manner.Keeps work area clean and free of trip hazards throughout shift.Other duties as assigned by Management

Education and / or Experience

High School Diploma or GED required.2 years of experience working on a production line in a manufacturing facility, preferably a pasta plant. Ability to supervise, direct and organize multiple employees at any given time. Prior experience in supervision and public speaking and/or training.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for direction and coordination of the packaging employees on designated shift. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, assigning and directing work and covering for breaks. Ability to coordinate the assignments of employees on an 8- or 12-hour shift.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel, push / pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms 2/3’s of the time.

Language Skills

Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is loud. Can perform all above tasks in an environment of 90 degrees F or greater up to 80% of the shift or greater than 100 degrees F for 30-minute intervals. Also, can perform the above tasks in an environment of up to 35% Relative Humidity.

Safety Responsibilities

Be able to work and perform tasks in a confined space as needed. Be able to wear appropriate hearing protection for the whole shift. Be able to perform lockout/tagout procedures on equipment once trained. To be able to always work safely in and around equipment.
