Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced PLM Specialist to join our Product Life Cycle team at Distech Controls, a leading provider of innovative building management solutions.

Your mission: evaluate, recommend, and deploy a PLM solution tailored to the company's needs. This includes conducting an in-depth benchmark of available solutions on the market, analyzing stakeholder requirements, and translating these needs into functional specifications.

You will ensure the deployment of the solution across all impacted departments and support end-users through training and tailored assistance to ensure effective adoption.

You will also identify new features or optimizations based on the company's and market's evolving needs.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Analyze business needs of Distech stakeholders and translate them into technical functional specifications. Lead a collaborative approach to select the best technological solution and integration partner. Participate in the setup of a project structure, including internal and external teams, to ensure the effective deployment of the chosen solution. Validate the implementation of requirements in the PLM solution. PLM solution configuration and customization: Configure and customize the selected PLM solution to meet identified needs. Ensure the efficient commissioning of the solution. Technology monitoring and innovation: Conduct technology monitoring activities on PLM solutions and best practices. User support and change management. Train and support end-users to ensure optimal adoption. Provide continuous user support post-deployment. Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure optimal use of the PLM, granting them access to the latest manufacturing files and other required documents while ensuring smooth information sharing. Develop technical and functional documents (guides, user manuals, architecture documents). Participate in operational maintenance of the system. Collaboration with Distech Controls internal teams (R&D, PLC, Product, Supply Chain, etc.): Work closely with internal teams to ensure product data consistency from design to production. Monitor product changes in the PLM system throughout their lifecycle. Organize and facilitate workshops and working groups with various stakeholders. Define and implement interdepartmental collaboration processes. Work with the Data Manager to ensure compliance of incoming data with defined standards. Skills and Minimum Experience Required Expertise in the principles of design and development of complex electronic and mechanical products, from industrialization to design, including lifecycle management. 5-10 years' experience in a similar role. Team collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse team profiles. Collaborative work and project management skills, including facilitating workshops, coordinating activities among stakeholders, and familiarity with one or more project management methods (Agile, V-model, etc.). Proven experience and demonstrated skills in deploying management systems such as ERP, PLM, CRM, or similar systems. Proficiency in at least one PLM software: Windchill (PTC), Enovia (Dassault Systems), Teamcenter/Solid Edge (Siemens). Autonomy, rigor, open-mindedness, strong interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, and teamwork capabilities. Bilingual French and English: To serve clients and external service providers across Canada and USA.
