Overview Under the supervision of the Plumber Lead, the Plumber, Sr oversees preventive and corrective maintenance involving plumbing equipment and related devices on assigned work orders for the PWD Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Team. Conducts an initial assessment to ascertain if the required work is within limitations set forth in the PWS. This task includes but is not limited to the calculation of Bill of Materials (BOM), and labor hours. Ensures personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focus on delivering a quality product. Follows UFC’s and Department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all tasks are accomplished safely, with a focus upon quality and plumbing code compliance. Will have direct oversight of Plumbers. Verifies actual hours worked by personnel to reduce manpower expenditure. Provides leadership and mentors junior personnel to develop appropriate skillsets. Addresses customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Must have a home-country Driver’s License and be able to acquire a Qatar and U.S. Government Driver’s License. Responsibilities Provides leadership, guidance, and technical assistance to Plumbers in the performance of day-to-day activities. Prioritizes, assigns and schedules work for the Plumbing Team. Passes instructions received from leadership and starts work by assigning immediate tasks. Checks work in-progress to verify work sequence, procedures, methods, and response times have been met. Trains workers in repair methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies. Monitors information to detect or assess problems. Records and reports all faults, deficiencies, as well as the time and materials expended. Provides guidance and direction to subordinates as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License, is required. Experience: At least three (3) years combined experience in plumbing trade. Must have an excellent understanding of all safety directives and polices regarding the operation of equipment. OCN Qualifications/Experience Requirements: Trade school degree or equivalent Must be able to read/write and speak English. Plumbing license Three (3) years of plumbing experience Skills: Analytical skills to be able to solve work-related problems. Manual dexterity for installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Proficient English oral communications skills. Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork. Exercise discretion and good sound judgment. Basic computer skills. Supervisory Responsibilities: Will have direct oversight of Junior Plumbers. Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
