Purpose of the Position: The Journeymen Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining complex plumbing systems in an industrial setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of plumbing codes, be adept at problem-solving, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality. This position ensures that production runs efficiently and safely by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and implementing repairs as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues in plumbing systems, including leaks, clogs, and equipment malfunctions. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system efficiency and compliance with regulations. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan and layout plumbing systems. Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems used in industrial and commercial facilities. Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and HVAC technicians, to complete installations and repairs. Evaluate plumbing systems for leaks and other issues, using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, and other diagnostic equipment. Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and inspections completed. Perform regular inspections to identify issues, wear, and potential equipment failures. Work closely with production supervisors, machine operators, and other maintenance staff to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules. Provide guidance and training to junior maintenance staff and machine operators on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting techniques. Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance processes and equipment to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Journeyman plumber license required. 4+ years of work experience in commercial/industrial setting with strong mechanical aptitude. Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, convey technical information, and document work activities accurately. General pipefitter knowledge is a plus. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. Willingness to learn about modern technologies and adapt to changing work requirements. Flexibility to work on-call/shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed to support production schedules and maintenance needs.

The range for this position is $26.00 to $32.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
