Position Summary: 

Bozeman Health, a leading community hospital, is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our Facilities Management team. As a Plumber at Bozeman Health, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the plumbing systems of our healthcare facility, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients and staff. Minimum Qualifications:

Required

High school diploma or equivalentValid state plumbing licenseThree (3) years of plumbing experience

Preferred

Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship programBackground in healthcare facility plumbing systems

Essential Job Functions:

Install and Maintain Plumbing Systems: Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings, to ensure they meet regulatory and safety standardsTroubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, identify the root cause, and implement effective solutions promptlyEmergency Repairs: Respond to plumbing emergencies, such as leaks or blockages, and take immediate action to prevent damage and maintain patient care continuityCollaboration: Work closely with other members of the Facilities Management team, contractors, and hospital staff to coordinate plumbing-related projects and maintenance activitiesCompliance: Ensure all plumbing work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and follows hospital policies and proceduresPreventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plumbing systems to identify potential issues and address them proactivelyDocumentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and equipment serviced for reporting and auditing purposesSafety: Adhere to all safety protocols and standards, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, to ensure a safe working environmentServe on committees: As assigned by Facility Director

Physical Requirements

Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Lift 50 pounds of weight (pick up materials, move equipment, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies. Use upper body strength (repair and maintenance work, etc.). Ability to complete work from a ladder while kneeling or lying down.Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, and employee needs.Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families.Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
