**Job Title: Plumber Helper (1-2 Years Experience min)**
**Job Description**
As a Plumber Helper, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
**Responsibilities**
+ Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.
+ Join pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
+ Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
+ Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, establish the sequence of pipe installations, and plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.
+ Perform complex calculations and planning for special or very large jobs.
+ Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
+ Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to the required angle using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.
+ Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and appliances.
+ Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
+ Install hangers from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.
+ Review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.
+ Direct workers engaged in pipe cutting and pre-assembly and installation of plumbing systems and components when necessary.
+ Install underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 2 years of experience with copper pipe.
+ Experience with construction, plumbing, and mechanical structures.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and building codes.
+ Experience with piping and industrial plumbing installations.
+ Ability to perform installations using hand tools and power tools.
+ Familiarity with PVC, Propress, and soldering techniques.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Propress is a plus.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
