Plumber I

The Plumber I will perform duties for Medxcel throughout the assigned working location of Seton Medical Center - Austin, TX. The Plumber I is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in the facility. The Plumber 1 works in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project. Providing adequate services will ensure that all water supply networks, waste systems and drainage systems are installed, repaired and maintained to meet all standards of building codes and safety. Responsibilities Install, Repair, and Maintain Plumbing Systems and Components: Diagnoses cause of problems and/or failures in water systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs Installs, maintains and repairs domestic water pumps, water piping lines, water filters and plumbing fixtures Repairs and maintains steam stations, valves, heating and condensation return stations and sewer and storm drains Tests fire system valves, tamper switches, fire pumps and dry deluge fire systems Maintains the piping and supply of cylinder and bulk medical gas systems Conducts preventative maintenance and service inspections of backflow devices and cross-connection control awareness Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations Maintains tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition May coordinate, maintain and repair all energy management systems May be required to coordinate, inspect repair and maintain other systems as assigned Qualifications Education: Some High School or Equivalent required High School Diploma or GED preferred Graduate of Plumbing Trade School preferred License/Certification: Valid Driver's License required Experience: Three years of journeyman plumber experience preferred #FMSTHY
