We are looking to hire hard-working Journeyperson Plumbers, who are already BC Red Seal certified, or willing to challenge the exam in the very near future. Trotter and Morton’s Mechanical Division is a UA170 registered division. All plumbers, with the assistance and sponsorship of Trotter and Morton will be required to become UA 170 union members.
Compensation: $47.34 per hour based on union wage.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Journeyperson Plumbers will work in all areas of commercial plumbing, including but not limited to:
Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges Assist with material handling Maintain clean working area at all times, perform housekeeping duties on site Ensure full compliance with Trotter & Morton Safety programs Perform other duties as assignedRequired Skills
Mechanical Aptitude Strong verbal and written communication skills Competent use of hand and power tools Ability to follow directions Ability to work with others as part of a team Progress within the plumbing trade through a recognized apprenticeship program, Work at various construction sites and projects within British Columbia Ability to work on constructions sites which may be outside Physical stamina required to: use proper lifting techniques for heavy pipes weighing in excess of 25 kilograms be on your feet for long periods sometimes work in cramped positionsRequired Experience
