Plumber (Sanitary Sewer Tech)
Overview Responsible for providing daily execution of sanitary sewer systems functions and training to military members in accordance with the performance work statement. Services include operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of selected facility sanitary sewer systems (SSS) in support of base operations. Responsibilities Perform effective and efficient OM&R to include regular inspection, operational testing and balancing, troubleshooting and repair of sewer systems to include documentation in SMS. Systems include: submersible pumps, diesel-de-watering pumps, valves, floats, rails, alarm boxes, macerators/grinders, pump houses, and PLCs. Plan, conduct, and document training by preparing and using Lesson Plans and Performance Objectives. Give trainees theory, background information, and hands-on education to enhance training performance. Accomplish scheduled maintenance shall include, at a minimum, coil cleaning, regular adjustments, and operational inspections IAW manufacturer’s specifications and applicable codes and regulations outlined in this PWS. Interpret engineering drawings which combine electrical and electronic schematics, logic diagrams and mechanical drawings to trace signal flow throughout the system while troubleshooting malfunctions of complex systems using applicable test equipment, safety rules and practices, environmental policies and principles of management and operation. Shall interpret installation and repair instructions which frequently only describe general applications for various components rather than their interface with other components of the specific system. Provide on-site expertise during emergency or complex service calls and complete preventative maintenance work. Responsible for following and implementing work prioritization requirements within provided timelines using automated management systems for all work orders. Responsible for following a comprehensive safety program in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas. Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program. Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools). Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet. Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements. Qualifications Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a current, valid U. S. Passport and Driver’s License (able to drive manual transmission). Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment. Must obtain an Air Force flight line driver’s license upon deployment. Must pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge upon deployment. Must pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing and background checks. Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands-on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DOD provided protective gear. Experience: Must have a minimum of three years' experience specializing in sanitary sewer systems and must be able to clearly communicate and effectively during the course of instruction.
