Plumber Trainee
**Plumber Trainee - Career Opportunity - San Diego, CA** **Job Description - 1st shift (Nassco Shipyard)** + Duties will consist of assisting in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems on new ships. + Performing basic plumbing tasks under the supervision of experienced plumbers. + Learning to work with various types of piping materials, including copper, PVC, and galvanized pipes. Supporting in fitting and assembling pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment. + Performing routine inspections to ensure plumbing systems function correctly and adhere to safety standards. + Keeping the workspace clean and organized, adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines. + Participate in training sessions to expand plumbing knowledge and skills relevant to ship construction. **Responsibilities** + Assist in the installation of insulation of compartment floors, ceilings, or interior/exterior walls. + Use tools and equipment in an efficient and safe manner for daily activities. + Assist in caulking windows, doors, wash basins, and toilet and shower modules. + Assist in the installation of adhesives, tiles, and carpeting of compartments. + Review compartment blueprints and sketches to assist in installation or electrical work. + Size, strap, and pull cable; install and hook up lights, switches, equipment, and power panels as required. + Adhere to all safety rules and regulations. **Job Type & Location** + This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
